Although, dancehall has remained serenity about the statement, there is a growing sense of unease among artists and producers.

Demarco is the latest dancehall artists to give his piece on the touchy subject. In an interview posted on his YouTube folio, the "I Love My Life" hitmaker says yes dancehall is "playing" in jail.

"What I want to say is that I go on a lot of plane, and I've been all over the world to promote dancehall music," Demarco said. "I know a lot of artists who go all over the earth and I've been all over the earth and its dancehall I was booked for. Then if Kartel say dancehall is in prison so dancehall is in prison yes because every prison must have a radio in their jail cell. Then dancehall must be playing in prison."

Demarco as well opened up well-nigh the lack of unity in dancehall, the lack of support at Patrick Roach funeral from dancehall, and touring.
